The problem we’re trying to solve is that there are good defense teams and there are bad defense teams. Then there’s fifty feet of crap, and then there’s us.

1. But…..we have a young group of guys that like swinging the bat and have one of the best offensive teams in the NL.

3. Ruiz’s defence is particularly concerning. He was never meant to be a great defensive catcher, but most scouting reports said he would be average. Well, he’s been the worst catcher in baseball this season by a pretty decent margin, making him worth -0.7 WAR this season.

   It’s pretty worrisome that of all the young players we have, he’s the only we’ve extended.
