  1. Okay, really hoping it works out. Just need a first baseman and some bullpen arms. Then fix manny and bogey. Honestly it doesn’t seem that rough but damn it feels impossible right now

  2. We have problems, but frankly our roster was a World Series contender before the season started. We just have played like crap and some of our players have under performed. Mr Seidler knows AJ more than we do, so i trust him

  3. I actually kinda appreciate this answer, like there’s a lot of non-answers he could of gave here but he stood by his guy while still saying he can be fired if he doesn’t do his job well enough. While this sub and I almost definitely have different standards for good enough, at least we know this won’t ever be infinite.

  4. It seems like Bob Melvin is 100% gone if we fail to make the playoffs this season. So much for stability.

Will always amaze me how much rope Preller has. He hasn’t proven anything to me imo any average GM can do what he does given the time and resources he has and it’s pretty obvious that we do have a culture problem, 9 years later. All this interview does is scare me, I hope is we really do field a competitive team every season for the next decade (just doesn’t seem realistic) and a championship even once.

  5. Seidler is smarter than all of us, and is present every day in this. He understands the behind the scenes infinitely better than we do. So I trust him.

  6. Poor Peter keeps drinking that AJ Kool Aid. I wonder if he’s in his will too.

  7. Peter is a paypig and enjoys when AJ blows his money cuz at this point idk

  8. Most owner or ownerships groups wouldn’t have given AJ Preller an extension plus a promotion after getting a playoff berth in 2020 and probably would’ve fired Preller after 2021.

I know a lot of you like Peter Seidler for the way he’s been wanting to invest in the team and don’t get me wrong it’s great that he is unlike most owners. But a lot of what’s happening falls on him too for letting AJ Preller get away with all the bullshit he’s been doing to this organization with the way the management of the rosters in all of the levels and the coaching staffs as well.

I honestly feel that if the fans didn’t help buy the tickets to sellout all these home games, Peter Seidler would probably be having a tone about the season so far

  9. Does stability mean remaining making it to the playoffs twice in the last 16 seasons?

  10. I honestly don’t understand this sub. Aj and seidler have spent the money and put together a roster that life long padre fans thought they could only dream of. Now that it’s here y’all want to tear it all down with no back up plan because they havent met expectations so far. Y’all need to fucking relax.

  11. Of course he says he supports AJ, if he is going to fire AJ he won’t mention it publicly until it happens.

  12. Erik who? Greupner? He doesn’t have anything to do with the baseball operations side. He doesn’t have anything to do with the on the field product. Why would he mention him?

  13. That ain’t good lol. I appreciate Seidler for spending money but if he really refuses to hold Preller accountable we are in for some bad times ahead

  14. We just like, not posting sources or nuthin’? It’s the age of deep fakes. We gotta be in the habit of sourcing info better.

  15. Please remind me how the Padres have fared during Preller’s time as GM, because I only recall two playoff appearances. Last season’s run was a deep one, but this team has lacked stability and high-end performance for most of Preller’s now lengthy tenure. Preller buys high, and seems to have assembled this roster as if he were playing a videogame.

  16. Well, it’s gonna be time to put your money (even more of it) where your mouth is because you’re gonna need to spend a lot more of it to fix this mess with Preller.

  17. He has to say this. When you’re replacing a GM it NEEDS to be stealth and surprising to the Gm

  18. He grew up with Walter Alston and Al Campanis running the wildly successful Dodgers. They had no reason to make wholesale changes. He somehow thinks that applies here.

  19. God this just ruined my day after the team win and going to ruin this team for next decade

  20. He’s just like most of the fans in this sun and thought we won the World Series after knocking out the dodger last year. He’s content now

  21. Well I appreciate the financial investment anything that aj fucks up is equally on seidler. I’ll happily be wrong but I think he needs to go. I hope to god I’m wrong because it sounds like aj has more than enough leash to hang this franchise for many more years to come.

  22. Dodgers been a owning us. They just intentionally turned over their roster and still kicking our asses while developing their young players and probably about to get ohtani.

Dbacks just surpassed and they still have some top prospects coming with money to spend.

Giants kicking out asses now and that’s without a face of the franchises player but eventually someone will take their money.

This core isn’t getting any younger and we still have like 5 holes in the line up.
