  3. Idk how much stock to put into this, my concern is that Lou is gonna overpay to get him and Stevie wont budge on his offer to Cat

  5. He’s worth $7.5m MAX. Is he good…yes but that was when Patrick Kane was feeding him pucks. I’d feel pretty equal if we got him or didn’t get him but he wants way to much for what he can contribute on his own.

  7. I understand Lou is in the running too, but they’d have to offload/trade $7mil+ to Ottawa in order to sign DeBrincat. Which means they wouldn’t necessarily be able to sign Tarasenko too. I just don’t see it happening.

  8. “Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake”. If Lou wants to overpay big time for Cat. By all means, we don’t get Debrincat I can rest easy knowing the Isles just torpedoed themselves.

  9. I partially blame the back and forth on the Debrincat situation for my crippling anxiety lately.

  10. I don’t even know how the Isles would overpay for DeBrincat. They have no cap space, zero draft capital outside of their own picks and a poor prospect pool. The only really big get I could see being an overpay is if Dobson somehow goes the other way

  11. What’s the point? If other teams beloved ADB was a game changing play they would clear cap space for him. If he isn’t game changing we will continue to flounder in the “almost not garbage” tier that doesn’t get the draft picks needed to succeed in todays NHL. I’m just extremely doomer-pilled about drafting and developing now. It feels like every year rests on the results of the draft lottery and I always feel sure the Wings won’t get the help they need. Everything has become deeply disappointing.

  13. I think the issue is ADB has the OTW’s GM all tied up. So Steve Y can take his time and not offer full price for ADB.

  14. Assuming it shakes out with ADB in Det…I am nervous to see who is traded as part of the deal

  15. The Islanders currently have $387,500 in cap space next year…. yes, I know crazier things have happened but they would have to make multiple moves to free up the space required to sign Cat. Especially if its by outbidding the wings contract offer… I just don’t see it happening but then again, crazier things and what not…

  17. I love that it seems like Steve hasn’t budged a fucking inch on this lol I’m sure he’s as sick of dealing with Pierre as we are hearing about him

  20. At this point with all of the hype if we land DeBrincat this whole sub will be calling him a bust if he doesn’t score 50 goals next season

  22. If we get him there’s a very good chance it’s not an overpay. If lou gets him, he’s paying for his utilities and greatly overpaying for him.

  24. How does Ottawa have the cap room to sign Tarasenko and still fill out the rest of their roster? I know Dorion has said ADB’s best offer was from Ottawa too. What are they doing lol
