  1. I honestly wonder how long before he gets Schooped up. I mean no one is gonna bring him right to the majors. I feel like at this point he’s gonna have to put up HUGE numbers to get called up or a team is absolutely decimated by injuries

  2. Jake Marisnick you are **STILL** a Detroit Tiger

Since signing his contract extension August 7th of 2021 Schoop hit .217/.259/.325 through 879 PA

Edit: It’s easy to hate, but he just passed 9 years service time. I hope he gets a chance somewhere else so he can meet that 10 years service time and be set for life.

  3. Taking into account both this and tonight’s game, I consider today a success

  4. If you told me in 2021 how bad he and Eric Haase would be this season, I would have said “Sure thing bro. And they’ll probably make another awful Indiana Jones movie. Totally believe you.”

  5. He was one of my favorite players before coming to Detroit.

I’m sad it didn’t work out.

  6. Finally! Apparently he is not protected by Miggy as some thought. Hope they can still be best friends, but he had to go.

  7. He signed the extension, got his bag and just stopped trying it seemed, dudes been waiting to get DFA for two seasons now.

  8. He had a really good year or two for the Tigers. No doubt one of our best acquisitions in the last however many years. Great team guy. Sure it ended poorly but Schoop is our best hitter over the last 5 years. Baller defender too.

  9. Shocked that they actually went through with this, but it’s been long deserved. I hope we learn wtf happened with his bat these last two years, but we’ll always have 2021 to remember him by.

  10. There is a god and his name is Scott Harris

(Wishing Schoop nothing but the best)

  11. It’s too bad, I was always waiting for another hot streak to come through but it never did. Hopefully he finds a landing spot and can play well enough to stick in the league for a few more years. Always seemed like a cool guy to be around.

  12. This does not solve all of our problems, not even the most severe, but it was necessary.

Props to Marisnick for extending his Tigers career against all odds!
