12. I know dodger fans are gonna say “why trade for him when you can just sign him in 2 months “ but trading for ohtani has a lot more benefits than people would think. First of all even tho it’s 2 months if he helps you win a WS in 2023 gets credit for full season. A championship is a championship. And there’s a lot of benefits of a player seeing how things work in your organization/getting comfortable and being open to extending with you before even hitting FA. Mookie Betts didn’t think he was gonna like LA and If not for being traded there admitted he might not have signed there .. if shohei gets traded to another team and he likes it and decides to say then your whole guarantee on signing him is out the window .. it also won’t cost as much as people think. Sure you’re gonna have to give up something but the angels don’t decide the market Other teams do. A team can want ohtani but what do they have to offer.. a lot of teams don’t have what the dodgers have to offer and unlike the dodgers only about 5 teams will truly be in the ohtani talks financially speaking which would limit what they’d be willing to give because the likely hood of him sticking around is small..

    The only thing that would truly make it impossible if the angels and Arte decide no matter how good the deal is they’re not trading with the dodgers (which wouldn’t surprise me) but if just talking about pure young talent to offer. The dodgers had 9 prospects in top 100 list that just came out last month

    losing 6 core bats in the line up due to injury when starting pitching era is 7.68 is gonna break any team……
    The dodgers are also in a tight spot with less starting pitcher but there main bats are not injured like betts freeman martinez muncy smith…..No matter how much the rookies play well most of the runs are driven by this 5 in dodgers team…..
