The Ottawa Senators traded forward Alex DeBrincat to the Detroit Red Wings for forward Dominik Kubalik, defenceman Donovan Sebrango, a conditional 2024 1st-round pick and 2024 4th-round pick.

Detroits on the horizon finally. Red Wings are going to be one of the interesting and funnest teams to watch next year.

As a Canucks fan, it’s all making sense what Yzerman is doing and I saw it when they moved Hronek to my team. We got the short end. He’s flush with picks and prospects and he used his cap space and some excess assets to get a 25 year old who could potentially score 40 goals per season going forward. He had over 60 points in what was a down year for him. This is how you run a hockey club. You don’t buy older players when you’re not even a playoff team, have very few prospects and very little cap space. My guess is, pending injury problems, Detroit will get better quickly and probably be a contender before we know it. This is how you run things if you’re a GM.
