Siakam pairing??

Soooo how would this work we just got Obi, Brown and Walker?

  1. he plays over all of them because he’s way better at basketball and Rick figures out the rest

  2. The only reason to trade for him is if we are a championship contender and we’re fine with the 1 year rental.

  3. If the Raptors thought the OG was worth at minimum 4 first round picks and a quality starter, just imagine what they think they should get for Siakam. No thanks.

  4. it would require a silly package to make this happen financially:

Hield + Theis and then either Nembhard+Nesmith/Nwora/Smith/IJax or TJ McConnell

    then picks i imagine?

do the Raptors want that package and that many players in return…?

    Haliburton – Mathurin – Brown – Siakim – Turner

    McConnell/Nembhard – Sheppard – Nesmith/Nwora – Walker – Toppin/Smith/IJax

feels like this would turn our guard logjam into a PF logjam lol

  5. I don’t see how we’d do this. It’d require Mathurin being included at a minimum plus multiple picks, and I’m not sure Siakam is worth that.

  6. Would be a great pickup for shooting and to help with rebounding, but I feel like we would have to make some pretty substantial trades just to afford him. His current salary is 35m, which means we would probably have to trade Buddy (purely salary reasons and I would be sad to see him go) and two other players, maybe TJ since we have a good amount of guards already, and Pascal could help with vet presence that Pascal would bring. I would also see Jalen getting traded since he is the same build as Pascal but obviously can’t hoop like Pascal. Just spit-balling here. Not super familiar with the Raptors needs during the off season or if this could turn into a multi team type deal.

  7. I wonder if this is just something old that is getting out now. Could be a pretty harmless inquiry or even a three-team trade gauge as I’ve heard Atlanta has been interested in trading for him as well

  8. It probably means Mathurin + draft capital and salary match…I don’t see them trading their best player unless they are getting a decent return even if he’s on an expiring contract
