Cardinals’ Arenado knows trade is possible: ‘It is a business, right?’

Do we actually see this happening or just more clickbait?

Arenado absolutely will not be traded, unless the FO wants to go for a full decade long rebuild
No way in hell. Now, whether or not that statement is wistful thinking…
He won’t be traded unless he demands it. I don’t see any big shake ups this off-season of the FO or big picture direction. By tearing it down (even if it’s the best option) you risk getting stuck in a failed rebuild cycle. For every Astros-like tank, you’ve got a Tigers which fails. I think the FO is hoping this season is an aberration even if it’s clearly obviously isn’t. That’s the best way for them to make $.
They’re not trading Arenado or Goldy.
Trading away 2 generational players for 1 bad season when it took so much to acquire them just a few years ago would be incredibly dumb.
All they will do is possibly trade the upcoming free agents, even then we still need pitching. So Flaherty or Monty will likely be re signed
Ya’ll do remember they both came from historically losing franchises? I know they dont like losing but 1 bad season isnt going to sour them on the organization, they’ve dealt with much worse in the past.
How about no
I mean he has a NTC as does Goldy
The Cards won’t trade Arenado. But I don’t think he’s going to be happy if the team doesn’t get something together soon, whether that’s this year, or 2024.
Wasn’t the 2005 cards team pretty trash? Maybe we could actually get some pitching and pull out of the free fall next year
Honestly him and Goldy are mid 30s. Unless you can make a WS run next season move them now. If they’re late 30s by the time the team is contending again then they’re more likely deadweight than impact players.
Package deal: Goldy and Nadi to Baltimkre for their minor leagues.
How about a Moz / Girsch trade?
They aren’t trading him. Only way they would is if they traded Goldy and he forced their hand to trade him after as well. They won’t do anything, but shocker I know.
Doesn’t he have a no trade clause (that only he can waive)?
Be dirty to do after promising making Cards contend to avoid his opt outs and not getting what they obviously needed to contend. Would send bad message to every player and agent.
I feel like if anyone gets traded it’s Paul. He is getting older and his value is only going to go down from here on. I don’t want him to be traded but it just makes sense.
I think he is allowing this to be in the ether because he has already okayed Mozeliak to discuss trading him to the teams he outlined over the winter when Mo convinced him not to opt out. His agent and Mo have already fielded calls and someone is waiting for Mo to blink and lower his ask.
The extent to which he is not traded is because teams aren’t willing to pay the requested ransom.
Ballys has completely destroyed this teams operating budget and plans and this is the beginning of the real pain of the downstream effects
I won’t watch or even check scores if Arenado is traded and the staff, including Mo, remains.
