  1. Grange was the one on the pascal trade front before anyone else. Orlando is new and interesting. I dont really see the fit or the point but Orlando could dump off a few rookie contracts and young players which other teams dont inclined to do so.

If Orlando IS willing to pay up their offer will easily outclass the hawks and pacers but would they actually do that?

I think Fultz to Toronto makes some sense and would be a good start

  2. Orlando looking at Siakam just doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. I guess they probably have one of the better packages to offer Toronto but where would Siakam even play? Would they move Banchero to Center or the 3? He also just doesn’t fit their timeline at all.

Indiana doesn’t make a ton of sense to me either but I suppose they’re further along in their rebuild (if you can even call it that) than Orlando.

Just feels like of the teams mentioned the Hawks make the most sense, but I guess we’ll see.

  3. So after weeks of talking between the raptors and hawks there are suddenly two new eastern conference teams to join the mix in the past 24hours?

    hmmm

Makes me feel more solid about my theory that raptors have the hawks best offer and cant beat it.

  4. I could be wrong but I think all these other teams randomly popping up is just Toronto trying to get leverage so that they can get a better deal from us. Indy got a nice young core that just drafted Jarace Walker and traded for Obi. Magic doesn’t even make sense when Paolo and Franz are their forwards for the future. Those teams trade packages are probably worse than ours because they’re probably not interested lol

It reminds me of when we started hearing rumblings of Dejounte going to the Hawks then randomly we heard Timberwolves and Knicks was interested lol

  5. Hope the hawks stay firm on their existing offer.

The timing/window of adding Pascal to either IND/ORL seems a bit rushed for them and where their at.

  6. Pacer and Magic don’t make much sense they both have young forwards with potential and they aren’t really a pascal away from doing something seems like a leverage play.

  7. Keep in mind Pacers talked to us about Dre. Perhaps they are a 3rd team in this and Dre would get Re-routed to Indy.

  8. Quotes from Grange’s appearance on the podcast: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5zaW1wbGVjYXN0LmNvbS9fVUdOcFJqNA/episode/MjZlZWIxYmYtMWQ0Yy00NjJlLWI5MTItY2IzNGEwOWMwMTkz?sa=X&ved=0CAQQ8qgGahcKEwi4-vKOgoeAAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQAg

    On the locker room dynamics

Scottie gets “set up” that way about the vets being displeased with the young guys

He says that if there was a better chemistry between Scottie and Fred and some of the other vets we wouldn’t be hearing this stuff, he doesn’t think it’s only Scottie though

It affected the team to an extent

Grange’s interpretation is that the vets who had to go through grinding the g league, vs the young guys who haven’t had to go through that

That’s more of what’s going on in his opinion

    On Siakam and trade discussions:

Grange doesn’t think that the noise is from his camp

Siakam loves Toronto, think he wants to sign in Toronto, thinks he wants to play in Toronto

He hasn’t gotten a contract extension yet

No one has corrected Grange on this, and he doesn’t think anyone has tried to say this isn’t happening, he’s been a guy around the NBA who is known to be available for the right offer

Doesn’t mean he’s going to be traded, but if you put yourself in his shoes, career year, wants to be here, and yet nobody wants to give the money right away at least

He’s sure he’s not feeling great about it

When you know organizationally they’re at least interested in finding out what would happen if they traded you

Grange has been wondering about “putting the toothpaste back in the tube”

He said that the only way you mend this is to give him the max extension

Grange says they’re hesitant to do it

He wonders if a 3 year offer is something they’d do

    That’s one scenario

He thinks a more likely scenario is there’s going to be a trade

Grange says it’s a 60/40-70/30 thing on him being traded

Doesn’t think it’ll drag out for months

It’s going to be awkward until something is resolved

Puts Darko in a tough situation as a head coach

Grange says it’s unlikely you’re getting an overwhelming trade return

He thinks you’re getting a good return

A pick or two, probably going to get one really good young player and hopefully a really good prospect

Not going to be a kings ransom

Grange says to “just get prepared for that”

  9. Guys there is all sorts of reports coming out of Raps camp that they are hesitant to give Pascal a max (not even Supermax) extension and they LOVE him. That should tell you all we need to know about this guy. They obviously dont regard him as some stud “needle mover” type player or they would give him max no problem. Spending alot of draft capital/young talent to acquire him would be a terrible mistake. He will play selfish (chucking, iso ball) trying to pile up stats to get that max/supermax. And thats if he even will resign with us.
