I never realized this, but we have one of the oldest non historic stadiums

Still such a failure that the stadium doesn’t face the skyline.

  1. As an environmentalist, they need to use these stadiums for 50 years. I remember going to the Metrodome when I was younger and as shitty as that place was you still have fun because you’re watching a baseball game.

  2. I’m not old enough to know….could fans see the skyline at Old Comiskey from the upper deck?

If you stand at the old home plate outside Gate 5, you can’t see any part of the city.

  3. Yeah we got the last “shopping mall” stadium. Baltimore built theirs next and changed the game when it came to stadium design.

  4. People need to stop obsessing over the skyline thing. It’s a nice park and a much better experience than Wrigley, Milwaukee, or Detroit.

  5. Per google: “Major League Baseball clearly states in rule 1.04 “THE PLAYING FIELD: It is desirable that the line from home base through the pitchers plate to second base shall run East Northeast.”

  6. You wouldn’t even get a good view of the skyline anyway. The stadium is 30+ blocks from the loop, everyone thinks it would look like Pittsburgh or Detroit’s and it just wouldn’t.
