  1. For a half of a year of Ohtani? Lol the Angels are going to lose homie and get nothing.

  2. No one is trading for him unless they can extend him. Be shocked if it’s not the Dodgers or Mariners

  3. Multiple top 100 prospects?

Okay, I guess the Royals aren’t getting Ohtani at the deadline

  4. Someone is going to do that. Not sure Id want my team mortgaging the future for 2-3 months of Ohtani. He’s going to FA regardless of what happens, he’s going to get a $500M deal over 10 years and it’s going to be insane when it happens.

  5. Someone who doesn’t have the money to pay him this offseason will pay that like the rays/orioles

  6. no team should offer that unless an extesion is put in place before it happens

  7. It’s gonna happen. How much is the question or if Arte Moreno is gonna be asking for too much

  8. I just have this feeling that they will hold onto him because Arte wants to sell tickets knowing when Ohtani walks next year revenue will drop.

He will hold him and then say “Aw shucks we tried” when he’s in Dodger Blue next summer.

Also would welcome Ohtani on a team like Baltimore or Cincinnati for the vibes

  9. In two weeks they’ll give Ohtani away for a hot dog and a candy bar

Pro tip, next time sell the year before

  10. Even if he is a rental, if you’re a team in the playoff hunt and you have the assets to get the current HR/OPS leader and a pitcher in the top 5 for strikeouts for just one player you do it.

  11. Am I the only one who wouldn’t want their team to do that? Ohtani is amazing, but I don’t think it’s worth it to drain our farm for 2-3 months of him when he would likely not re-sign in Toronto.

  12. Angels trade him for an absolute haul only for Ohtani to come back and resign with the Angels thus keeping him and Trout together while adding huge pieces why not

  13. Some GMs are going to have their office doors kicked in by owners trying to get more eyeballs on their teams.

  14. We’re going to trade Jesse Chavez back to the Angels. We will then sign Ohtani to a 10 year $45 million contract with 1% of course given back to the Braves foundation. The angels will then release Jesse Chavez, who will of course be re-signed by Atlanta just in time for postseason play. Reddit will be in shambles. Make it so, AA.

  15. As an angels fan I would def not trade ohtani, be a buyer at the deadline and show him you want to try win. If he walks during free agency that’s his choice, but I’d rather that be the case then be the team that traded away the best talent we have possibly ever seen. But that being said if they do trade Ohtani, blow it all up and trade everyone including trout and really go for the rebuild instead of some half ass attempt hover just under .500.

  16. The bidding starts at multiple top 100 prospects, & ends with maybe a fringe 100 & a couple lower level players. They have 2 months left of him. They have no leverage. The only thing driving price is if the handful of competing teams try to out bid each other, and the Angels are outbidding all of them.

  17. My guess – the haul is six prospects, three of which are top 100 prospects, and their careers combine for about 5 WAR.

  18. C’mon reds. Trade some prospects, and just field a team of Shohei and a bunch of guys on minor league deals
