Kevin Durant seems to take issue with Dan Le Batard’s take that “Herro is better than Maxey, he’s just whiter than him” in a deleted tweet

Durant seems to be not happy with notable Heat fan Dan Le Batard’s take on Tyrese Maxey and Tyler Herro’s comparisons. KD deleted the tweet quite quickly

  1. i mean i think herro is better than maxey too but dan le batard is an idiot here and all the time.

  2. Kd takes issue with everything anyone says about him but he’s kinda right on this one

  3. I don’t think Herro is better than Maxey, but it’s not an absurd position.

It is absurd to say that white players are underrated.

  4. Man that show use to be so good. They became big time and changed show sucks now

  5. I don’t think it’s crazy to say Herro is better than Maxey now, but to think he’s getting disrespected because he’s white is whack. Maxey has a higher ceiling than Herro but that’s all you can really point to and say he’s much better than him. But the take is still dumb especially relating it to race

  6. what Batard said was absurd but ppl do tend to give maxey’s defense a pass while saying herro’s makes him unplayable, when they’re pretty comparable

  7. When will famous people learn. If your tweet was up for more than a millisecond, someone has already taken a screenshot.

  8. Maxey has become the most overhyped player in the league. Last year it was Scottie Barnes, now it’s him. That said, Herro’s stock has to fall given how well the Heat played without him in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

  9. Why does every shit there pants and scream during the off-season. Can these guys just enough some down time?

  10. I would say Maxey has a higher ceiling than Herro, I do believe that but right now today, Herro has more experience and from an offensive standing he is above Maxey…KD don’t see this, he’s just a dumbass with a fucked up haircut which is a really bad combination.

  11. The racial part is ridiculous, but the comparison isn’t too far off in terms of talent level even though Maxey is probably slightly better.

I don’t think it’s because Herro is underrated though, it’s more that Maxey is overrated.

  12. In what world do you live in to think that you get a better look from the media/coaches for being White in the NBA? It’s just embarrassing at this point.

  13. Why is everyone so heated over this take? People saying Le Batard is going to start a race war are being insanely dramatic. I think it’s a pretty harmless and mostly true trope that white guys get a little overlooked in basketball.

This isn’t some giant revelation or heavy social commentary or anything. Yall really need to lighten up lol

  14. Let’s not pretend like we’re not all susceptible to racial bias. If herro were black and Maxey were white they would be viewed differently. It’s not preposterous to mention that.

  15. Reddit loves to act like white players got it tough instead of the reality that being white in the NBA gives you built in popularity.

Marginal players like Payton Pritchard, TJ Mconnell, Alex Caruso and Herro all get more buzz because it.

I’ve seen multiple white kids rocking Herro shirts out of state in Texas, PA & NJ. I doubt you’ll see kids wearing Maxey or Poole shirts outside of their respective fanbases.

  16. Maxey is genuinely a better player, white or black, and KD secretly harbors racist views like the rest of the league (see last years mvp race). Shocked fuckin pikachu

  17. My respect level for Le Batard is somewhere around Kendrick Perkins now.

  18. Not a Dan Le Batard quote, the actual quote was “people love specifically saying this to me because they thought I would think it first. They are like Herro is better than Maxey, he’s just whiter than him.”

  19. everybody knows nobody is more disenfranchised than white guys playing in the NBA /s

  20. He probably should have said “Herro isn’t worse than Maxey, he’s just whiter than him”

That gets his point across more clearly

  21. I mean I don’t think it was racist by Le Batard. Seems more like him being a homer. Probably why KD deleted it after some thought.

  22. It’s hilarious that he even made the comparison while talking about the Lillard trade, as though the problem with Herro in the deal is that Portland is going after Maxey rather than Portland already being a team that’s already exclusively young guards.
