    The Twins are hitting .233 as a team, the M’s are at .231, Twins have scored 400 runs, Seattle 410, Both teams have a .311 OBP, 3.72 ERAs and 1.17 WHIPs. Seattle is 46-46 and the Twins are 48-46, Sounds like a split of a four-game series to me.

  3. False alarm, Logan Gilbert has reverse splits so far in his career so I retract my emphatic call for Wallner to be starting over Kepler. (I’d still prefer it but I’ll settle down for now)

  4. The talk about Buxton lately reminds me a lot of the talk I heard about Mauer and especially Morneau on like KFAN when I was a kid.

    People are convinced the team is either involved in some sort of conspiracy to hold out from playing the best players, or that the best players aren’t playing because they’re soft, or because the team is too stupid to play them.

    The truth with Buxton is the same as with Mauer and Morneau post-concussion: he can’t play regularly, at full strength, and at his regular position because he’s debilitated by injuries.

    That’s it. There’s nothing more to it. It sucks. But also that dude at Target Field who holds up the “It’s Been __ Days Since Byron Buxton Played Center Field” sign is an asshole. Obviously he wants to play Center Field and hit .280 with 30 homers and the team wants him to as well. That’s life!

  7. Max Kepler has an OPS+ of 86, WRC+ 88. His DRS in RF is 0. A respectable 2 OAA. His solid defense in RF is not worth starting over a promising rookie.

  9. there’s no way my geriatric east coast ass is gonna make it more than an inning or two for this series, but I expect to wake up to at least one incomprehensible reference in the post-game thread and a score of like 13-6

  15. The game hasn’t even started and I’m already frustrated thinking about how the game will probably play out. This current version of the Twins is not good for my mental health.
