1. That would be insane for two months of Ohtani

2. I only think they should get him if they can get him to get a long term contract next season or it’ll just be getting rid of a lot of people for just a 3 month rental

3. There is no situation where I give up Duran for a rental. If we were trading for a pitcher like Mitch Keller I would consider but not for a guy who is almost certainly going to test FA.

4. Take Duran out, and I would do it. I think Porter has the potential to be a future #1 starter, but our track record on pitching development is suspect enough I could stomach losing him. Duran is just too valuable to lose for a rental though. Young, .800 OPS power hitters that can play multiple positions don’t come around often.

5. I don’t want to trade for ohtani at all. The price he’s gonna fetch isn’t worth 2 months.

8. Many teams are dealing with the dilemma of if they do trade and get Ohtani, will it be worth the few months? A few teams have commented that they’re going to wait until he’s FA and just pursue him then and not lose decent players. The Angels know they will unlikely sign him so they’re trying to get something that would be better than nothing

9. I am literally praying that the Rangers wont mortgage the future…..to a division rival….for a rental…..please dont bring back the Jon Daniels mindset….run away from the temptation.

10. This would be worth it for a World Series win or if we can re-sign Ohtani.

11. If it only costs one of carter Duran or Langford I’d do it depending on the rest of the pieces
