  1. Damn it of course. They already have a dude who throws mid 90s splitters and 102 fastballs

  2. One of very few interesting players on the roster. Horrific as a starter due to a lack of consistency/control, but had some dominant moments from the bullpen and his stuff, when on, was unhittable. I hope he helps the birds win the East.

  3. O’s got their #1 Japanese pitching trade target from the AL West that we all expected

  4. This guy will probably post a sub 3 ERA for the rest of the year. He’s been good his last 7-8 outings out of the bullpen

  5. Bullpen arm for them and their staff which has been good with pitchers. Seems like a win-win.

  6. Guy has great stuff if he knows where it is going. If Baltimore found something they could tweak, it’s probably a good move.

  7. The A’s are baseball terrorists. Murphy and Olson to the braves for a pack of fucking skittles and now this. Fold the franchise

  8. I’m just glad he didn’t go to the Ray’s. To think about what they could turn him into frightens me.

  9. perhaps mike elias wants to have a player who knows ohtani/speaks japanese in order to make the transition for ohtani more comfortable if we trade for him 👀

for a baseball standpoint: we acquire a project middle reliever with nasty stuff while not giving up anyone major (easton lucas). If our coaching staff can develop his stuff (as we’ve seen them do with yennier cano), i think it’s a decent move

  10. Wow, from dead last in the AL to a playoff team! Kind of ironic that he may get to play in October before Ohtani…

  11. I’m still shocked at what we gave up for this, Fujinami whos been trending upwards a while in my eyes could’ve at least feteched a low top 30 prospect. Instead we got him for a guy whos never played an MLB inning for us and wouldn’t be on the 40 come rule 5, mike elias fan club sign me up.

  12. Wow, I just was looking at his stats just a few hours ago. Are the Orioles actually intending to use him on their MLB roster or are they claiming him as a project to develop in the minor leagues to get him up to MLB level?

Although I will say his past few outings have looked promising according to the game logs…

  13. the A’s front office reacts to their own good/promising players the same way I react to finding a huge spider on my arm

  14. A’s have one even slightly compelling player on their roster? Nah not allowed, ship him out ASAP.

  15. I… honestly don’t like this trade for the O’s…

As a Japanese person I want the best for every Japanese player but I have negative faith in Fuji. I feel like he put it together for only a short period and will fall apart again costing O’s huge when it counts the most.

  16. Oh! I wasn’t expecting this. I’m excited that l’ll get to watch Rutschman catch for Fujinami. I look forward to watching Fujinami help his new team make the playoffs and beyond!

  17. I skimmed the title way too fast with a little bit of dyslexia and almost had a heart attack.
