  1. Maybe. Some of them have been out of the game than others making it somewhat hard to judge them against each other. I mean imagine them getting out Vlad Guerrero for him to lose badly to Pujols because Pujols is a bit more ready being out only a short stint.

    Fun? Sure. Fair? Probably not.

  2. As a Mariners fan I’m incredibly insulted that this wouldn’t have been introduced this year with Griffey hitting a home run derby in Seattle. What a missed opportunity. It almost makes me not want this to happen.

  3. Y’all are so boring. Yes they are older but it would still be amazing to see some of the greats compete in a derby.

  4. I hope they go back to the old rules then. Seeing an absolutely gassed old man swimming for the fences would not make for good television lol

  5. All living season HR leaders are required to play. Gorman Thomas, you’re up.

  6. I would find it pretty *boring*. One more way to reduce the All Star Game to total *irrelevance.*

  7. How’s the kid that got beaned in the noggin?

Perhaps some of these would be dingers would be easier to get a glove on.

  8. This would be fun to watch. They might have to bring in the walls a bit to help them out though lol
And will probably need some physical therapist on site to assist in between rounds 🤣

  9. Probably would need to have a shortened fence like they had for the celebrity softball game. Maybe at 275 in the corners and 325 to center. Then if you hit over that you get 1 but if you hit over the actual fence you get 2.

  10. I love nostalgia if they did it as maybe a slow pitch, shorter field type deal.it could work.

  11. If they shorten the field and let them tee off 50mph pitches with aluminum bats then sure if may be entertaining

  12. Can they still hit HRs with regulatory? I don’t want to watch Jr take 50 hacks to get three out.

  13. I think they should do this, but they need to do it on a smaller field/with slow pitch softballs or something. These guys won’t be able to hit 20-30 homers in one session like before.

  14. Here’s alternative suggestion. How about a 5’ 9’’ and under home run derby. Could include Jose Ramirez, Jose Altuve, Ozzie Albies, and more! Thought of this a few years ago and thought it sounded cool.

  15. Just have an old-timers game. Let’s see Randy Johnson knock down some 70-year old.

  16. This could work. Bring the fences in, short Homer counts as 1, real homer counts as two. Lower the clock and limit the thing to one round plus the top two go to the final. Two timeouts per round, or three if over 50. These guys will get gassed easily.
