Diaz is still negative value as a pitch framer, at about the same rate as Maldy.

  2. Framing shouldn’t matter in a dream world where a challenge system or roboumps exist, so while Diaz can get better at it, I’m more pleased with his other defensive abilities than worried about framing.

  3. But how many passes balls with runners on base on very catchable fastballs has he allowed?!? 🤣🤣

  4. He’s not going to get the start. Dusty has said that he just doesn’t trust rookie catchers in general.

    Which probably means had we had a stud catching prospect like Will Smith, he wouldn’t have been in the starting lineup consistently when Dodgers were completely fine with it
