  1. This makes Cook boom or bust this year, as the primary backfield pass catcher. Also leaves the door wide open for KR / PR duties, with the incumbent sidelined. Sad to lose Nyheim for the year, but a roster spot just opened for a fringe roster / camp body to earn their spot… who ya think will step up for it?

  2. I wonder if we will look to one of the spring leagues to add competition to the returners group. Lots of guys put returns on tape in the USFL and XFL.

  3. Picking up where we left off with injuries, great. At least it’s early so we can find a replacement.

  4. This sucks.

Legitimate question. If he suffered the injury because he did something off the field that he shouldn’t have been doing can the Bills cut him and save cap space?

  5. This hurts a lot (especially as a big Hines fan myself) but it’s not insurmountable.

Cook + Harris should still be enough of a rushing 1-2. Cook was billed as a pass catching back so now we get to see if that’s real or not without Hines to fill that role. Harty should be able to fill his KR/PR role, that’s what he did in NO iirc.

  6. Hmmm that sucks. It was hard to know what his role in the offense was going to be. It’s like he was traded here from the Colts and all their fans tell us “we never used him correctly”. Then he comes here and has next to no role in the offense.

  7. While unfortunate for Hines, he was not expected to be a huge part of the offense anyways. It obviously hurts our return game, but they’ve got plenty of other internal options who can step up and fill that void.

  8. Unfortunate that this started already. Dead cap is the worst part to me but at least he wasn’t an offensive contributor. Was a non contributor outside of the patriots game last year and the kickoff rule would only further mitigate his contribution

  9. Sources say future Buffalo first round draft pick has a career ending injury while away at summer camp proving that health risks of being a Buffalo Bills player extends beyond the limits of space/time.
