  1. Only thing surprising about this clip is that he isn’t shouting obscenities at everyone

  2. Such a unicorn he doesn’t get enough credit because he would have been able to show more of his skillset in this era. Those deep jumpers would be threes, his passing was solid – he would create more. He’d be an INSANE 5 in the current NBA

  3. KG is underrated on this sub. All of the younger kids seem to think Dirk was better because of his magical finals run, but there is no comparison.

  4. For anybody curious about the matchups:

    #4 Steve Smith

    #9 Vince Carter

    #15 Shareef Abdur-Rahim

    #5 Jason Kidd

    Then Carter and Abdur-Rahim again.

  5. Dude had such a high release point on his jumper, along with being a 7 footer (almost). His mid-range felt automatic, thought it was going in every time he shot the ball.

He averaged at least 20/10/5 for 6 seasons straight, which at the time, was insane to think about.

I think a lot of people nowadays only remember him playing in Boston, where he was slowly declining. They don’t remember how good he really was.

  6. Incredible. First time I’ve seen him so calm and retrained, and he’s schooling the top players in the world. What a waste of all his years with mediocre teams in MIN

  7. i’ve never been a fan of KG’s personality. I thought he was a fake tough guy and was a bit over-the-top with his persona. but separating his persona from his actual abilities, KG to me is the most talented PF to ever play the game.

No, he did not achieve anywhere near the level of his biggest counterpart, Tim Duncan. but on a piece of paper, in terms of their abilities and natural athleticism, KG was, IMO, the more skilled player. And I believe you could plug KG into more systems than Duncan, and I believe that if somehow they both played in today’s game, KG would be more valuable and the better player than Duncan.

  8. Crazy to think Kobe and KG almost were on the same team. The intensity would have been insane in practice and games.

  9. KG was such a stud. My favorite players are all PFs from this era: KG, Dirk, Marion, Duncan

  10. KG was so good. Wish he got drafted by a better team or went to one sooner.

  11. I read a story in Sports Illustrated years ago about KG at a pre draft work out in Chicago. They had him running drills on a side court and he was stinking it up bad. There was a pickup game going on on the court beside him with a bunch of pros. He finally talked the scouts into letting him get in the pickup game and he absolutely took it over as a 17 year old man child. He was always built a bit different.

  12. I haven’t found the video, but I remember Rudy T. saying he had a 1v1 tournament, and KG beat Vince in the final, 11-2.

  13. He would’ve fit in today’s game perfectly. Extremely versatile big and in todays game they would’ve given him much more leeway outside of being a traditional “big man”

  14. Ill never get over the guy that told me prime Pau was a better player then prime KG and that KG was never a Top 5 NBA player

  15. KD ain’t trying here. Dude was amazing, fuck the Celtics, but I’m glad he got his chip. When he was playing he’d be so intense you’d here “FUCK” on the TV lol. Dude made it a habit to not let a basket in after the whistle. I remember a few people getting pissed.
