  1. He really went out on a limb there, I don’t think The Cubs are going to be sellers though

  2. A cubs trade solves everything we need. Stroman, Bellinger, and Gomes fills 3 areas of need. I think we’d need to give up Pereira and a high upside prospect like Alexander Vargas on top of some safer hitters or pitchers like Elijah Dunham or Richard Fitts.

  3. Wow connecting the Yankees to the 2 most available rental bats on the market. How bold. Pretty sure this is all speculation.

The Yankees have been more directly connected with the Cardinals’ OF and have been for some time. Mentioned it in the off day thread, but Dylan Carlson makes a ton of sense for the Yankees.

  4. No this doesn’t do anything. Do not give up assets for guys that don’t move the needle. This team is not winning a championship with or without them.

  5. Get rentals is pointless. Get guys with some control so we can retool and get better. sweeping the royals shouldnt move the needle towards buy rentals

  6. Sweeping the Royals shouldn’t change our outlook for the deadline. This team isn’t good and even adding both of them wouldn’t put us in the same league as Houston, Texas, Baltimore, and Tampa.

  7. I’d be all in on Bellinger and would try to re-sign him. It seems like he’s back.

Maybe not juiced ball MVP Bellinger, but he’s still batting .319 with 14 HR and 12 SB and is a lefty who can play all 3 OF positions plus 1B and is still under 30.

I would still do more in a re-tool kinda way but adding Bellinger, Judge, a competent infielder, and a competent catcher would make a huge difference on this lineup.

And nobody in the AL scares me right now. We currently suck, but add some pieces + a healthy Judge and we could go on a run.

  8. Make a good baseball trade (helps and hurts) bring in a controllable player, shake up the team a little and you can retool.

  9. Last year we traded for a .300 hitter and he mostly sucked ass. Can’t wait for part 2 of that when we trade for Bellinger.

  10. So they just want to rub some dirt on it and think we can make it into the playoffs at the end of this season? HA

  11. Bellinger would be nice but I’d need some guarantee he’s here for a few years. There’s no point in dumping prospects for a rental, especially this year.
