The Boston Globe should be sellers at the deadline, some other rag may want what ink is left in Shaughnessy’s old pen

  1. And if they were sellers he’d have a column out about how he’s tired of them treating he team like the rays and how it is time for them to act like the big market team they are etc🙄. (For the record I think if you can get something valuable for Paxton you do it then try to flip whatever you get for a controllable starter)

  2. You just have to understand that the incentives for the Red Sox and the Boston media are reversed. Winning is good for the team but bad for the media. Losing is good for the media but bad for the team.

  3. Dan Shaughnessy used to write sports well. He changed into writing negative, cheap flame bait to get people to respond (for good or bad) so The Globe could show clicks and traffic. I use to love reading the newspaper when it was actual paper.

  4. I, too, would write shit articles if the other option was eating plate loads of crow

  5. What a stupid take. The Astros look very suspect this year and teams like the Rangers and Orioles have no postseason success to rely on. The AL is wide open.

  6. >So why not go for it now?

    >Because they are not good enough to make a serious run. And this recent run only gets in the way of the long-term plan.

    >Sell.

I don’t trust Sham Bloom to buy or to sell. Or to plan.
