  1. The wild thing is apparently there were other teams wanting to sign him.

  2. Meh. Wish we didn’t have so many non NBA level players on the roster but got to keep Giannis happy.

  3. The fact that so many people still don’t understand Thanasis is baffling to me. So, let me break it down for you:

    1. He is as hardworking as anyone
    2. BroLo has said that Thanasis almost single-handedly kept the team together during lockdown. He kept calling everyone, asking how they are doing, if they needed anything, etc. By all accounts, it absolutely sucks playing against him during practice because he goes 100mph.
    3. When your No. 1 takes practice as seriously as Giannis, your middle guys are Pat and Allen, and your end of the bench is a human dynamo, you’ll be damned if you take off plays off during practice.
    4. He is super fan guy to hang around.
    5. He is a bench cheerleader like few in the league, that keeps cheering for everyone, at all times.
    6. He makes Giannis, the very foundation of this whole franchise(!), happy and another reason to stay in Milwaukee!

Also, you think a team like the Knicks wouldn’t love to have Thanasis on the roster? To help all their young player as a vet form a championship team, and as a guy that has learned a lot under Bud and Sfairopoulos. Also, a guy that always follows the rules… He wouldn’t get out of quarantine, even when Giannis practically begged him to celebrate winning a freaking championship!

Go ahead. Find ANY end of the bench player that does HALF of that, and tell us about it. I’ll wait…

  4. I don’t think A) fully understanding and acknowledging why they bring Thanasis back every year and B) still not being happy with the Bucks using a roster spot on him have to be mutually exclusive. I get Thanasis is a good guy and good for vibes but we literally don’t have a backup PG right now, I’d much rather use that spot to take a shot on a younger guard that you can develop.
