The good news for Taylor Ward, per Nevin, is that there wasn’t damage to his sight. Surgery and recovery still up in the air.

He did hear from Alek Manoah last night, who felt bad. He also heard from other big leaguers with similar experiences.

That is a relief. 🙏 for a full recovery for Taylor.
Can’t imagine him back this year. Unless trout comes back very soon they’ll need to consider a last minute trade for at least one OF/bat
Sucks that he’ll probably be out for a few weeks at least, but it could have been much worse. What a relief.
Great news, he wont be back this year if he needs surgery. My friend played futsal as goalie and got kick in the face (same side) while going for the ball. Fracture and needs surgery. The vision on his left eye after surgery got worst and he can’t keep anymore.
Ward will have the best people looking after him, this could turn out way worst for his eye. Lucky his sight is ok.
That’s the thing I was worried about. Good news indeed. 😭
Just listened to Nevin’s pregame on the radio. He said Taylor was in good spirits last night – “regular Taylor goofing around”. So good to hear that.
Thank goodness. I hope Ward has a speedy recovery!
