Alec Bohm is batting .358 with runners in scoring position and is on pace for more than 100 RBI. He walked twice tonight, the Phils have walked 25 times in the past three games.

  1. dont give a shit about his RBI numbers or the batting average with RISP but he’s been awesome at the plate since the break. I’ve been his biggest detractor and I still don’t totally believe it but he’s been the best hitter on our team the past 2 weeks.

  2. Only won one of those games though, it was a good win tonight, but team needs to continue to do better

  3. The fact that he has a 0.0 WAR makes me even more skeptical of WAR as a meaningful stat than I already was—and I was very skeptical to begin with.

  4. I wish in April I bet on Alec Bohm, Bryson Stott, and Johan Rojas to carry the team

  5. Bryce Harper in his MVP 2021 season had 81 RBIs. He was only barely above McCutchen’s 78, despite Cutch being a league average bat.

And RISP numbers are deeply unsustainable. A player who overperforms their numbers with RISP one month is almost exactly as likely to continue overperforming as they are to then underperform.

Bohm’s OPS with RISP has actually fallen significantly since the ASB despite his hot streak (because, at the same time, his OPS with bases empty has risen even more significantly)

I agree that he’s contributed but I don’t think these numbers are useful in projecting future performance (which I don’t know if OP is claiming)

  6. My wife loves Bohm almost as much as Marsh. Both more than me, I think. I’m really not that mad either.

  7. You’re crazy if you think he is getting more than 100 RBIs. I know he’s “on-pace” for it but considering OBP of his teammates AT THIS MOMENT I can’t see that happening

  8. God he gives me a raging Bohmer when he is up to bat.

Not just that he’s been great in the field this year. Sign him, stott, and marsh to 10 year deals please.
