[Rosenthal] Twins were one of “4 or 5” teams involved in talks of a 3 team trade that would have sent Rodriguez to Twins, prospects to Detroit and a starter to the Dodgers (Maeda or Gray)

I don’t know how much sense that makes but alright.
Always “involved” never able to close. The story of the Twins. Just wait til you hear they were “involved” in the Ohtani talks too.
So Falvey spent some of his time corporate speaking to the Tigers and Dodgers about this deal that makes no sense(Rodriguez will opt out and can’t get the QO so no 1st round comp like we’ll get with Gray, unless we were planning to throw a massive extension offer out to Rodriguez) while he could have been of addressing the needs for a complementary RH bat and 7th inning reliever that have plagued us since the offseason and would have been minimal cost and pretty simple deals. Ok, got it.
Edit: To change “all” to “some of”, so I’m not getting in trouble for assuming Falvey didn’t discuss other deals.
