Colts RB Jonathan Taylor “seems unlikely” to be placed on the NFI list according to sources that spoke with Stephen Holder. If placed on the list, the Colts would not have to pay JT’s 2023 base salary.

  1. Hopefully this is a step towards forgetting all our silly squabbles and just being happy friends again in time for week 1

  2. Hopefully this means 1) we’re trying to talk in good faith with him and 2) he feels he is closer health-wise to normal

  3. I honestly think the NFI talk is all about shutting down malingering as a negotiation ploy.

  4. Sounds like good news to me. Placing him on NFI would break the relationship entirely

  5. Hope we just strong arm him. By far his smartest move right now is to play with Richardson, almost assuredly dominate as a running QB is an amazing boon for a RB, and then go get the $12M per or whatever he might actually be worth to whoever wants to pay him.

If he really thinks hitting free agency off a bad, injured year, plus throwing a public fit and reneging on the deal he signed is best for him, then good riddance.

  6. I doubt they really were serious. It seems more like they’re letting him know, they’re not gonna play that game if that’s what JT is trynna do.

  7. Now that I realize 1) Indy has the cap space to meet JTs demand 2) the new QB could use a good RB as he matures 3) the likelihood of a Jacob’s or Dalvin Cook ever joining Indy is near zero…

Just pay the man for the good of the team
