[Question] Albert Pujols Jersey Number History (# 36, 68, & 5)

I was looking at Albert Pujols Rookie Cards and see there are some with # 36, 68, and 5. I read he was assigned #68 as a non-roster invitee to the 2001 spring training. Did he wear #36 at some other time during spring training? Any history/stories behind #36? Did he ever wear #5 in spring training?

He started opening day wearing #5. Has he only ever worn #5 in the regular season (other than #55 as a Dodger)? [2001 Opening Day](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mIbVNITDKc)

  1. He wore 36 in the Arizona Fall league in 2000 and not his rookie year. After said year, the Cardinals asked him to change to a single digit number because they look better when retired. They did the same thing with Molina, who wore 41 for a year or two.

Edited to correct my error: I was thinking of his Arizona Fall league number.

  2. Pujols only ever wore 5 in regular season games for the Cards. 36 and 68 were spring training numbers
