Drafted past the 30’s after being invited to the first round, stayed in the draft room for part of a second day. You can’t give any judgement for not returning to the full visibility box, especially if the treatment by writers is poor. But that wasn’t considered by Brian, all that he wanted to do was walk on that stage and remember the night. Look at the expression on his face as he strolls through the empty hall to applause. When he’s handed the Lions’ Hat he does a double take because he knows that all of his hard work so far has paid off, it’s a treat for him to drive his motivation. He is going to be ARSB number two, watch him.
BB is one of those guys who will be beloved by the entire fan base. I’m so excited for him.
My favorite thing about the pick is that the front office only had 14 players with a true “first round” grade (BH said most years there are around 18 guys), and Holmes explicitly said that Branch was one of those 14 guys.
So unless Holmes was straight up lying, we still got someone who he deemed to be a first round talent
