I wonder how soon DLo gets dealt if we drafted LaMelo. Does he show enough promise to still prompt us to go after Rudy? Maybe Beasley isn’t dealt?
And while I think Ant has proven to be a better leader than LaMelo thus far, I will say the Hornets have not built a great roster around him. Is there enough on that roster for Ant to have proven anything over there? Maybe they go for Scoot this year if they had Ant.

It’d be a weird fit with D’Lo, so that’d likely lead to some shakeup that’s hard to predict, but LaMelo and KAT would be pretty nasty offensively. They’d need way more help defensively, but you’d also likely keep Vando in that scenario.

Not sure with Melo on the wolves, but I think Ant has really benefited playing with KAT and other veterans his entire career so far. KAT being around meant he wasn’t relied upon to be the instant franchise savior. In the last two years you had guys like Bev and Gobert who have experience on winning teams and what you need to get to the playoffs.
If Ant goes to the Hornets he probably has better rookie stats as the go to guy. But he probably also picks up a lot more bad habits and a bigger ego and isn’t seen as having the same astronomical ceiling.
We’re stuck with that dumbass father sitting in the crowd.

I don’t think he would be as good as he is now, particularly his defense, because he wouldn’t get playoff experience, have Finch to drill defense and would be thrust into a bigger role right away and may develop bad habits.
I think Wolves would be worse and we wouldn’t feel the hope we do now. Ant is also hella durable so when we had injuries, having him is invaluable. Lamelo is injury prone.
