Who’s getting off the no World Series wins list first

  1. If we restate the question as “besides Texas, the obvious favorite, who is going to be first?”, the Rays and M’s both have pretty good odds.

The Mariners’ starting pitching development has been unreal lately, and they’ve got the talent and depth there to really do some damage. As for the Rays, all they have to do is like 80% of what they flashed to start 2023 and they’re an easy favorite.

  2. Gotta bet on Rangers or Rays first.

    Then Padres Mariners.

    Then Milwaukee

    Then expansion teams

    Then the Rockies

  3. Rangers have the best chance of anyone here, maybe rays somewhere down the line

  4. Tampa has made the postseason 8 times in the past 15 seasons and will almost surely do so again this season. In that time they’ve won four division titles, seven playoff series, and two pennants. They seem to be the most consistent and well-run org of the lot. Anything can happen of course but I’d put my money on the Rays.

  5. I want it to be the M’s, but I’d have to say it’s a tie between the Rangers and Rays.

  6. If I had to put money on it I’d have to say Rangers. Not only are they currently the best team out of these but their owner has proven that he’s not afraid to drop a boatload of money on talent.

  7. If it’s the Rockies first then we are looking at like 2030 or later and all these prime windows are gone for the other 5.

WS are so very hard to get. LAD only have one recently despite all their recent success and it was 2020. HOU only has 2 (Yes, I know, with an asterisk). It’s been 15 years since the Yankees.

IMO, I see the Rays not having to ever take a year off and always have pitching at it’s core. Pitching is huge important in the playoffs.

Rangers are trying, but I’m not sure how big their window is. So if not soon, it could be awhile again it’s been a decade.

Seattle is mostly young and willing to trade the whole roster in the span of 3 years. IDK how their farm system is. I think basically they need to have career years all at once and then get relievers and career year pitchers at the deadline and win the crapshoot playoffs. There is no reason to believe any year over any other year.

MIL might need to reset at some point, no? So, if not this or maybe next year, it will be a few years again.

San Diego window is now so they better get it soonish 35yr old huge contracts are going to come and close that window. I know they will spend now. How old is the owner? Will he be alive to do so next window?

  8. Absolutely zero shade (he’s a relative), but Nelson Cruz has been on 5 of these 6 teams.

  9. TECHNICALLY the Guardians are forgotten about here.

It was the Indians that won in ‘48.

~~Not like they’re winning any time soon, though~~

  10. Crazy that M’s are the only team left to never appear in a worldseries Considering somehow Rockies made it 😂

  11. Burnes, Woodruff, and Peralta with Devin Williams behind them is tough in a playoff series

  12. Based on both this year and past near misses, the Rangers and Rays would be most likely. As a Rangers fan, I really hope it’s us. We’re the oldest team on this list.
