True story from yesterday…
My brother and I were driving home yesterday, a couple hours after the game. We were driving (i.e. stuck in traffic) on Blue Jays Way, when we saw Danny Jansen leaving the dome, stopping to take pictures with fans who recognized him.
>Me: Bro I think that’s Danny Jansen.

>Bro: *[rolls down window to shout hello]* Danny!!

>Jansen: *[Does not hear him]*

>Bro: HEY DANNY!

>Jansen: *[Looks up, smiles and waves]*
My brother waves back but is so starstruck he somehow forgets to keep his foot on the brake and (mildly) rear ends the vehicle in front of him.
>Bro: SHIT!

>Me: *[even more mortification]*

My brother jumps out of the car to check if there was any damage and to talk to the driver of the car in front.

Danny Jansen continues walking to go about his business while my brother exchanges information with the driver and I consider how wild it is that this is the story I’ll tell when I’m talking about the closest I’ve ever come to meeting a baseball player.
*Edit: Also there was no damage to either vehicle…hard to damage when you’re in bumper to bumper traffic (thanks a lot Lakeshore East GO train for being down this weekend)*
