  1. Younger fans don’t realize just how much the rave was in Denver during those two monster Portis years. It really felt like we had the early making of a HOF RB….and truthfully he probably would have been if it weren’t for his immaturity and him being surrounded by some really crummy people in his personal life.

    Don’t get me wrong, Champ Bailey was the overall superior player at a more premium position. We definitely won that trade…but if Portis had stayed in Denver in the Shanahan offense with our superior lineman and scheme, he really could have had a HOF career IMHO.
