CJ Stroud Will Win Offensive Rookie of the Year

  1. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all…. that’s probably why

  2. I haven’t stopped talking about CJ, personally. From a media standpoint, they will have plenty of positive to say after the next preseason game.

  3. CJ had two poor offensive series’ in his first ever preseason game against a defensive coach that loves to disguise coverages to mess with rookie QBs while playing on a team that has been bad for several years.

Combine that with the “Ohio State QB” stigma, the P2 scores that most fans had ever heard of before this offseason, and the “he has no weapons and a bad OL, unlike in college” commentary there’s just not a lot of people willing to make a claim that he could actually be pretty good this year.

I think he’s going to be great but he’ll need to have regular season results before any of the narratives about him will change in the national media.

  4. Frankly, the only QB in that game that looked like he had any upside was Malik Cunningham and he was an UDFA playing against third stringers and future XFL players.

For Stroud, it’s not really fair to judge him yet. All I really noticed was that he seemed to have less pocket awareness than Watson did as a rookie. But I’m more remembering Watson’s first regular season games and not how he looked in pre-season.

  5. CJ Stroud looked pretty awful, objectively. There are a lot of rookie QBs that outperformed him; his high first round capital doesn’t insinuate his ultimate skill.

  6. I think him also playing on Thursday also didn’t help considering all the other rookies played over the weekend. It’s also the fact that Texans just aren’t talked about much and coming off of a miserable season.

  7. Lol last week this sub wanted everyone to shut up about CJ

Lets just let him get a few more snaps under his belt.

  8. I’m not sure what you want people to say. In his first NFL action he looked like a complete deer in headlights and gave off Zach Wilson vibes. Just hope it was a wash and he looks far better this weekend and he’ll be talked about as an OROTY contender again

  9. Unfortunately, he has great odds to overcome.

The Ohio state stuff is silly, but the talent he had and the talent gap they had won’t happen here.

He struggled mightily in the face of pressure and thats not a good factor.

Love Ryans, but not having an established OC or Head Coach is not great for young QB’s.

He has limited weapons here, and we are hoping the Browns get us a good pick.

The last one is not intended to be rude, but he simply seems to be lacking in certain areas. Honestly, you don’t see QB’s as limited as him. Maybe it’s a boomer thought, but look at Mahomes, Burrow, Hurts, pre crazy Wilson, and obviously the list goes on. But most good to great QB’s aren’t as limited. Maybe Josh Allen, but not many else. Look at his QB idols, you shouldn’t even think that list is okay, let alone say it.

That’s a lot to go agingst, and I hope he kills it as he seems very likable, but to not see what everyone else sees is just pretending things aren’t as they are.
