  8. I’ll be real, I’m actually shocked that Trump is getting indicted. I assumed they’d shamefully sweep it under the rug, yet here we are in 2023, with the Nuggets as the world champions after sweeping the crybaby Lakers.

  9. Water heater is busted. We’re supposed to be getting a new one this afternoon.

    I’m very worried that the folks who gave grandpa a reasonable quote will get here, find out they have to drag the new and old units into/out of a narrow crawlspace, and up their asking price.

    Renting from family is weird. We’re getting a great deal on the house, but when shit breaks I feel bad in ways that I wouldn’t with any other landlord.

  14. This is a basketball sub. Could you all stop talking about politics and the most corrupt president in the history of the nation with a record setting, 4 indictments. which is 3 more than the previously held record, which was held by Trump.

  17. I got called in for jury duty once for a case involving a state agency, and the judge recognized me from a different case I had worked on against the same gov agency. She still made me sit there for an hour before letting me go, either because she wanted to follow the rules real strictly or else didn’t like me.

  20. Last time I got called for jury duty, the judge made us sit there for 2 hours before deciding that she was going to cancel her session for the day because a witness was wheelchair-bound and it was snowing and she didn’t want to make that person travel in the snow.

  21. You guys find it interesting that in a group only about 30ish people large, we have a bunch of people who are very similar? Like lemondhead and tarspaceheel, or poortonyk and wierdredbeard.

  23. Sometimes I wonder what the best time of the day to participate in the daily discussion thread is. I usually participate in the mid morning around 8-10, but I wonder if it’s better later in the day. Though at the same time, if you participate too late, than you sort of miss out on all the actual discussion.
