  1. He also said Darnold is a threat to Purdy, so you can decide how much you want to trust his evaluation.

  2. I remember when posts like this came in during the off-season, and everyone here freaked out claiming that it was incredibly unreliable and fake.

    lol

Lance can’t make decisions quickly, throw in rhythm, looks slow as molasses despite his supposed “athleticism”.

He’s in his 3rd year and Geno Smith had more passing attempts last year than Lance did in his highschool, college, preseason and regular season career combined.

It is what it is at this point. He’s a massive bust right now and he isn’t going to change that narrative on this team.

  3. Darnold’s got legit college and pro experience, so he at least looks the part. I just don’t think it translates to very good QB play but I think the coaching staff would have more confidence and trust in him if they were forced to make a decision between him and Lance. Lance may still have more upside, we just probably won’t find out because you need to get him reps in games which we can’t do.

  4. Kind of a lot for a broadcaster to say, especially not a color commentator guy.

  5. Yeah, and he should be. He’s a multi year starter at a P5 school and is going into his 6th year in the NFL. Trey Lance was a junior in high school when Darnold was a rookie in the NFL.

  6. Seriously how much tape do people need on Darnold to understand he is a bust. Apparently they need very little on Lance, but a treasure trove on Darnold is still not enough. Purdy’s 9 games of film is better than Darnolds entire career so far.
