Huh. I thought it would be in middle of the season
So my understanding is the ‘NBA Cup” championship game is essentially an extra 83rd game on the schedule that won’t count towards the regular season standings, and besides bragging rights the main incentive is plus $300,000 (versus losing the championship game) which will is a nominal sum of money for most NBA players (especially for the players who the NBA will be expecting to play in the game). It will be interesting to see how motivated players and teams are to win.
