  4. The highs are high, and the lows are frequent. I still like a lot of this team, but it does feel a bit like being in a dysfunctional relationship.

  5. I sat next to the world’s most obnoxious Twins fan, and he was so unbearably rude when they hit that Grand Slam. Fuck that guy.

  6. At what point do i just focus on Miggy milestones-

    4 doubles ties him with Hank Aaron 5 to lead in doubles in the 3,000/500 club. He’d also lead in average at .307 vs Aaron’s .305

    1 more HR breaks the tie with Sheffield for most HR by anyone that’s ever worn an old English D at any point in their career

    8 more hits and he’s the all time hits leader with fewer than 12,000 plate appearances of anyone that played in a game after 1917. (He could play another full season and still not get 12,000 PAs). Doing this, he would possibly fall out of the above .300, could fall below Aaron in half a season or less if he played badly.

    Don’t know if Detroit would do this… even if Miggy wanted to play for $2M. Miami would take him in 5 seconds though. The ticket sales alone would cover the price tag. They could have him only play home games, for a month, still would be worth it to them.

    Pujols did this to chase stats- played for STL for $2.5M at 42 to get stats.

    Think the most important for Miggy tho-

    18 more hits and he has the most amongst Latin players landing at #16 ahead of Adrian Beltre.

    I think he gets 18 hits in 43 games. He’s really gonna demand playing time until he does.

    And JFC Harris wake the fuck up and realize that Diaz flat out sucks. Dude’s 27 with an OPS under .550 in the majors and has sucked on defense at every level.

  8. The Oakland A’s are on pace to win 44 games. Maybe if they didn’t win a series against us shutting us out twice at home we’d lose our 2003 – 43 wins distinction for worst MLB team ever.

    Maybe that’s something to watch? We play four of the last ten against them. No doubt we’ll lose some of those ugh
