Anyone else have a mental team heiarchy based on what’s on?

  1. How are the Astros not the bottom of everyone’s hierarchy? All by themselves in a category labeled “cheaters”.

  2. Who the hell “likes” any team other then their own? Pure fugazi. You love one team and everyone else can go kick rocks.

  3. For me It’s usually lowest to highest payroll correlates to emotions felt. Lowest is most favorable, highest is least

  4. I have a spreadsheet for these rankings actually, and almost every category is a variation of “I hate them”

  5. Nobody neither likes, nor has a good impression of the White Sox. Not even their own fans.

  6. It genuinely stings to be a fan of a team people have no opinion on. Much worse than being hated.

  7. I have one tiers of like:

    1. Yankees

I have 3 tiers of not like:

    1. Astros, Red Sox, Rays (for obvious reasons)

    2. Orioles, Blue Jays (division rivals that don’t usually bother us)

    3. Angels, Tigers, Guardians, Rangers (teams other than above who knocked us out of the playoffs at some point since I started really following the Yankees in 2002 so I hold a grudge. Marlins are an exception for some reason. They beat us, but I’m cool with them)

Edit: There’s also Tier 4: Dodgers (because their stadium attacked Judge)

I also have a soft spot for the Braves, Cubs, Cardinals, Giants, and Nationals. The Dodgers used to be on that list until this year.

  8. – My team
    – Small market teams not in my division
    – Meh?
    – Teams from Confederate states
    – Teams from Texas
    – The Yankees

  9. Does anyone not from Colorado have a strong opinion about the Rockies? They beat the Phils in the playoffs in 2007 so I was mildly irritated by them for a while, but winning the WS the following year made that go away and I’ve barely noticed them since 🙂

  10. I’ve been an Astros fan since childhood.

Given everything that’s happened and things I’ve been told by other fans, I don’t have the luxury of backup team or tiers.

  11. going back to this id prob move the astros beween annoying and nearly completely unlikable.

  12. Understand what you’re trying to say, I definitely have some kind of weird hierarchy in my head. Constantly reshuffling; example would be that as a Phillies fan, I never had a problem with the Padres before the NLCS last year. Same with the Giants and Cardinals in 2010-11, but now that those teams aren’t the same and some time has passed; don’t hate them as much as I used to.

Phillies would be my only “top tier team”, and there are only a few teams I truly hate between division rivals and the usual suspects (I’ll let everyone else fill in blanks). But even then, some are more likable than others for whatever reason.

  13. Lots of people don’t like the Giants. And really? And also putting the cheating Astros at the same level as the Rangers? You shouldn’t be allowed to do this.

  14. Can someone explain why people hate the dodgers? They don’t cheat, act like assholes, they just win. Why y’all mad?

  15. How do you think negatively of the A’s and the Angels, but not of the Rangers and Astros? They’re all teams that are actively trying to keep your Mariners out of the playoffs.

EDIT: You’re a Giants fan and you don’t find the Dodgers completely unlikable?!

  16. I’m laughing at your mental logic that if you happen to watch a Mets and Braves game you’re rooting for the Mets 😂

  17. As a Yankees fan, I would like to say one thing to the fans of every opposing fanbase: suck my balls

  18. I love all the “lovable loser” teams that are dead last in their divisions except for the Yankees.

I don’t really care about the AL and NL Central.

I despise any division rival. (AL West)

I despise annoying fanbases (Dodgers and Cardinals)

    And there are the Asterisks.
