Maybe the best one-inning, non-save performance from a Cubs pitcher I’ve ever seen.

I appreciate Michael Fulmer
Hats off to him and Ross. Ross stuck with this guy and it’s given Fulmer all the confidence he needed
🥶🥶🥶
Gotta be his best outing as a Cub
Agreed. He was absolutely filthy! So clutch!
Ice in the veins. Fire in the arm
Anyone got a streamable?
Unfortunately I missed that inning, who pitched the bases loaded ahead of him?
I’ll be first to admit I wrote him off. Now I’m not sure where they are without him. Super impressive the adjustments he made. Coaching staff too.
Fulmer vs. the Dodgers this season: 3.0 IP 8 ER 24.00 ERA
Fulmer in all other games this year: 50.1 IP 16 ER 2.86 ERA
3 strikeouts in 11 pitches after taking the mound with the bases loaded. Absolutely unreal.
Nine times…
Fulmer has been quietly nasty this year. I think we all kind of got PTSD from the beginning of the year, particularly with the Dodgers, but he’s come so far, to the point where I don’t worry so much if it’s him (or Leiter) coming out of the BP. He’s really come through this year and there’s no better example of that than tonight’s game.
I had some hope for Cuas because he hasn’t been too bad, but tonight’s performance did not inspire confidence.

A near immaculate inning
