Somehow the overall first base production has not really improved. Now .209/.265/.350 on the year for a MLB-worst .615 OPS from that position. [via Curt Hogg]

  1. Im not sure if this is sarcasm or not.

    “Somehow”

We acquired a guy with a .730 ops at first, the odds of the production improving there with small

  2. Mr. President… a ~~second~~ ~~third~~ ~~fourth~~ ~~fifth~~ ~~sixth~~ seventh Brewers first baseman is underperforming at the plate this season.

  3. Curt knows better. It’s 2 weeks into what was a 16 week dataset. If he batted .400/.500./.700 the needle would barely move.

He could do that the rest of the season and we still will rank low.

That goes for the entire offense. If our September is lights out offense the yearly totals will still look atrocious.

Since the a bit before the break we have gone from “ewww gross!” To “not great but better” and that “2023 team stats” isn’t going to move.

  4. It can be safely assumed that the brewers have absolutely no chance of advancing in the playoffs if they find a way to make it there.

The division is weak, but so is this team.

A possible division title will all be for naught
