I went to a Liiga All Star Alumni game today. Here’s some pictures.

The finnish hockey league Liiga hosted an All Star Alumni game today. All the players were finnish who had at some point played in Liiga. There were alot of NHL players there also, some already retired and some who still played in the NHL.

Some of the more well known players included in the game were Esa Tikkanen, Kimmo Timonen, Pekka Rinne, Juuse Saros, Jyrki Lumme, Mikael Granlund and three generations of Kapanen’s, Hannu, Sami and Kasperi.

The oldest player in the game was Lasse Oksanen, aged 80. Liiga has a trophy named after him which is awarded for the most valuable player in their team, kinda like The Hart Memorial Trophy.

Some players wore their Nashville jerseys from the second round forwards, because there were that many Preds players in the game.
