Aaron Rodgers is having an influence on Zach Wilson | Film Breakdown 🎥

From a play style perspective, Wilson has been screens and paper cuts underneath this preseason, with go balls vs single high S looks.
I’ve liked his eye usage.
Listen and see how that mirrors Rodgers and Hackett
Would’ve liked to see some breakdowns on other some missed throws or decisions (think he had a couple in the HOF game) but excited to watch Zach tonight. I think having a capable backup able to steal a game (a la White) is still valuable even if it’s obviously not what you’d want from a #2 pick.
Hope he pulls out a Rodgers play fake today
Another good breakdown. Side note what is with all these guys from down under doing analysis? Is it the rugby influence? PFF has a guy too.
Anyway yes he is improving.
*Here is the pessimistic Jet fan take.* It’s unfortunate that we wasted 2 of his years because if this continues we will be in a position to have to make a decision on him next year, which may be too soon. If you are Zack and we don’t extend him are you really going to want to stay and possibly waste another year? So he will probably leave or at least be in the position to force us to pay a lot of money the season Rodgers has retired. That will be risky.
*Positive take, something that is not common being a Jet fan and living though our history* – Imagine if he become a good QB (not great just good) and we lock him up to a reasonable contract. With this core group and the good decision making we have had from the front office for a few years now, imagine we also have our QB spot settled for 10 years. That would be a sea-change for this organization. That hasn’t really been the case for this organization in my entire lifetime. Really since Namath, and he fell of very quickly even though they were never going to get rid of him.
One can dream. Either way just his improvement means guys like me who were saying just cut your losses were wrong. It’s early but I hope it continues. He is a serviceable back up now and that all they need him to be at the moment.
Rodgers is the best offensive coach we’ve ever had.
Don’t give me hope on this one just don’t do it
