  2. Dakota just quietly going about his business putting together a successful season, out pitching most of the staff. A rare bright spot for this year.

  4. 2023 Cardinals: 55-70

    1990 Cardinals: 58-67

    The 1990 Cardinals won Game 125 against the Houston Astros, 3-2 in 11 innings. Todd Zeile hit a two-run double in the sixth but Houston scraped up runs in the sixth and seventh to tie and the game went to extras. In the 11th St. Louis small-balled another run when Tom Pagnozzi singled, was bunted to third, and was singled home. Lee Smith collected his 26th save. Rookie Omar Olivares made his second start and was effective again, giving up two runs in 6 2/3.

    Bush was damn near empty today and looked like an Oakland A’s home game today.

  10. I haven’t watched the game yet, but I looked at the Savant page. It seems like Hudson was legitimately good. Getting 13 swings and misses is amazing for any starter, especially one that isn’t known for having good stuff. It looks like he got super lucky on one fly ball, but that’s it. I also noticed Baker swung the bat well, hitting three balls over 95 mph. His hardest — a 108 mph rocket — turned into an out. Hey, that’s baseball!
