  1. Unbelievable, There’s no way [insert defenseman you have a bias towards] shouldn’t be on here

  2. All of these guys can defend except one, somehow he won the best defenseman trophy.

  3. Having watched large amounts of both players, Owen Power is a better Defenseman than Brandon Montour

  4. It’s a shame Jared Spurgeon never got the recognition he deserved during his prime years

  5. Karlsson was both good defensively and offensively he should be higher and Mcavoy+ Dahlin could make cases to be higher

  6. Morrissey way too high IMO. He had a great season but it’s still just 1 season. This season was the only season he’s ever had votes for the Norris.

  7. Happy to see Miro get the recognition he deserves, he’s so young still but so good in all areas of the game

  8. I’m not even a Preds fan but Josi should be 2nd behind Makar. Spurgeon not being on this list is criminal.

  9. One of the fewer more egregious takes I saw from THG was not having Devon Toews even in the top 30 defenseman in the entire national hockey league. Glad to see him here

  10. Are Brodin and Spurgeon not considered two of the best defensive defensemen in the entire league? I get it, the guys listed are powerplay quarterbacks. Can we actually talk about denfense, though?

  11. I don’t necessarily agree with McAvoy’s placement but I get it, offensively he’s just not on that level of most of these guys even if the rest of his game is debatably the best in the league. He’s probably the most well rounded D-man not named Cale Makar, and defensively and Physicality wise he’s second to few if any. Offensively he’s just meh, he could probably put up 65 in a strong year, usually good for 50ish, so I get the placement.

I’m glad Lindy is getting his flowers, if McAvoy didn’t exist he’d be a ppg two way minute munching monster, but even in a smaller role he’s killing it.

  12. I think mcavoy and Pietrangelo should be lower. Hamilton and Hughes higher. Otherwise it’s fine
