I love Matt Kemp. He brought intensity and joy to the club. You know what? I feel like when he was on, he had the same electric energy as Mookie. Mookie is an all around better talent and isn’t nearly as intense.
I was sad when he got shipped to the Padres, but was stoked when he came back! He got to play in the World Series!
I’ll always remember his MVP campaign. I love Matt. I wonder what he’s up to now.

as a Black fan just getting into the game in 2011 at 12-13, Matt Kemp got me into baseball. Love Kershaw forever but Kemp was my first favorite. seeing somebody that look like you as a kid goes a long way
The guy who delivered an MVP-caliber season once he broke up with Rihanna.
I caught a foul ball off of his bat one time. It was my first Dodger game with the woman who is now my wife almost 10 years ago. I gave it to a little kid to show her how kind I was and the kid gave it to his dad who pocketed it. Never said thanks or anything. She won’t let me live it down and I’ll never, ever, give a ball to a little kid again. That’s my Matt Kemp story.
Kemp will always be one of my favorites. Always a smile, loves the game, love the team, loves the city.
If he had stayed in shape and remained healthy he could have had an amazing career.
That said, he was pretty awesome.
