[The Athletic, Pronman] Washington Capitals rank No. 22 in NHL Pipeline Rankings for 2023

That’s a fair grade, we’ve been trading prospects and picks for immediate players for a while now and it’s going to take some time to build the pipeline back up.
Caps have a couple years left on the veteran’s tires, but need to build the pipeline fast. That means we should see roster trades, not pick trades–if we make moves at all.
It’s been a wild 15 years, hopefully we can avoid the hangover.
