  1. Not at all. Both Matthews and Marner have a shot at passing Sundin if they play another 5-6 seasons with the Leafs.

  2. It’s too bad Gretzky didn’t go to another Canadian team after the oilers instead of LA.

Then he’d be on this list twice!

  3. A bit. It does speak to the fact that in its 100+ year history this franchise has never had an upper echelon elite player who was here for a long time. Up until now anyway. If Matthews and Marner manage to stay for another decade and continue to produce they’ll blow by Sundin.

  4. It’s depressing that they can’t keep franchise players. Other than Turk Broda, their goalie stats are all attainable for a good goalie for 5 or 6 years. Which they never keep.

  5. Only stat I find depressing is “last Cup win in…”

I don’t really care that we don’t have a 1000 point player, but we could have 3 if they re-up their deals

  6. Kinda.

On an unrelated note, was watching the Jays game, and man, the parallels between Vlad and Will are uncanny.

  7. It’s a little depressing that out of all of those great players, only Gretz and Lafleur have rings.
