Drink game:
every time HSK’s helmet falls off, you drink
It takes more than money to win the whole thing – buying players is the easy part.
Hopefully the people up top figure out where in the leadership, coaching, recruitment, etc they need to make changes and make the correct changes to take us there.
Just saying they can spend on the big hitters, but until they get the organization as a whole setup to be a winner, the picture won’t be complete. Let’s hope the end of this season is when they make the changes to chisel away at the more subtle reasons for why we aren’t winners.
For all of you people that think major league managers shouldn’t have to teach fundamentals, listen to the Marlins manager on 97.3 right now. Every “non-negotiable” he mentions is a fundamental. For gods sake, he even mentioned hitting the base with the correct foot. Do you think the padres staff is working at that level of detail?
