  1. So just to conclude the last few days:

    WE ARE STILL KEEPING 3 QBS ON THE ROSTER.

    LANCE IS QB3.

    DURING THE SEASON MAYBE HE ENDS UP QB2.

    LITERALLY NOTHING CHANGED.

    This is why you don’t lose your shit over “league sources” saying random unprovable bullshit.

    He’s always been up for trade as has every 49ers player. That’s how the front office operates. They listen to everything.

    Now can you all please shut the fuck up about Trey Lance.

  2. Not the worse case scenario. We decline his 5th year option. At worst, he knows our system and work to build his confidence. Luckily our QB room is still very cheap

  4. I hope Trey Lance does play Friday Night. It will be very interesting and telling to see how he responds to all of this. I want to see if he tries to come out more aggressive now with his play or if he regresses. Does this put a fire in him to where he comes out swinging in an attempt to give Kyle the middle finger for picking Darnold or does he sulk around and try not to make daddy angry with him.

    We could really learn a lot about who Lance is as a competitor if he plays Friday.

  5. I hope this is a lie an we do trade him. Allen can be QB3. And he only make $1 million as opposed to $9 million.

    It’s time to move on. Trade him to ANYONE willing to offer ANYTHING to take his salary.

  6. Trey Lance’s legacy as a Niner is going to be that of a really expensive distraction.

    Not necessarily his fault… just a damn shame how it all played out.

    I really hope Trey comes around and accepts the QB3 role and eventually beats out Darnold.

    I also hope he gets significant snaps tomorrow and lights it up with a **vengeance.**

  9. If they hold on to him I hope they really develop him for the backup spot until they find a home for him. Everyone saying he needs reps when he’s still struggling with mechanics and basic football.

  11. How does a coach and GM keep their jobs after giving away the farm (3 1st round pics) for a dud QB, while pics that went to other teams converted into several top notch players? How could Shanahan be so wrong? Lance probably tops the list of 10 worst football decisions by the 49ers.

  13. Would you trade Lance and a 2nd rounder to the Vikings for Danielle Hunter? Would love to get my hands on another proven pass rusher and is also good against the run. But that might be a bit too much, though.

  15. I think this is the best situation for him. Focus 100% on development, without having to worry about prepping like a starter – which is expected of backup QBs.
