I did think that Connor was only picked for family ties but the way that some reacted around here about a 6th round pick was laughably ridiculous. Many were acting like we spent a first on him.
False.
Watched a bunch of his tape from Michigan State. He actually looked good as a running back early but what stood out out was his fluidity in routes and his hands. I have been on record saying I believe Heyward had the best hands in the 2022 draft and he did it without gloves.
He definitely wasn’t just drafted because he was Heyward’s brother. Dude is a football player similar to the way Hines Ward was. He isn’t going to wow anybody in shorts but when pads come on dude shows he belongs in the NFL.
A football team is family. Stacking bothers is fine, as long as they’re talented dogs.
I watched two of his games at Michigan State and was hooked. I wanted us to draft Connor in the 7th because that’s where he was projected. Glad we got him where we did. Dude is a football player, period.
I’ll admit nothing. I’ve been saying for a while that Tomlin has quietly been putting together a great team.
A team.
Not a group of players. A team.
No more drama. No more divas. No more building around one guy.
Just build a team that can beat anyone on Sunday.
We’re about to find out.
He looked good out there today
Definitely a solid utility player. Him being Cam’s brother likely got him noticed by the front office, but they definitely had a plan for him. He wasn’t just a gimmick on the draft board.
I’m always a fan of players that don’t meet the metrics but they manage to meet the eye test.
Sometimes a player is successful by hard work and willpower more than elite talent. Connor is one of those.
I thought “he’s a fucking fullback, any production at all is a bonus and we know the kind of person we’re getting” 🤣🤣🤣
Michigan State has been hot garbage so it’s hard to blame anyone.
He totally was picked for family ties but he was also a 6th rounder so its not like I was down on the pick
“Anybody else have a little brother? Anybody ELSE have a little brother?”

I’ve been called out. I was ok with it, but thought he would never see the field. His touchdown last season against Atlanta is where I finally thought this kid could actually play.
He was one of the picks I nailed in my mock draft but I still wasn’t happy with the pick. I’ll be honest that I didn’t see this player at Michigan State. He’s quicker and more explosive than I gave him credit for. Glad to be wrong.

Membah when people also thought we drafted TJ because of his name, I membah.
